I bought a SanDisk reader/writer and mini sd card and my phone can't read the MP3 files. Do I need a flash memory reader/writer and card?

All you have to do is buy the memory card, a reader, and your set.

Just transfer any and all songs you want to your card, take the card out of the reader, put it into your phone, switch storage devices (from phone to memory card) and your done. Listen to all your songs.
Thanks for the info but what upgrade are you talking about and where do I find it online?

Just purchased LG VX-8100 at local verizon wireless store. Was told I could use it as an MP3 player if I purchased a scan disk mini sd memory card and A scan disk usb port card reader/writer. Is this true? I am having trouble with the process. My phone manual now tells me it supports only qcp files. Can MP3 files be converted to qcp files? If so what software will I need? Where do I find It? What are qcp files anyway? Not to sound stupid but I am a newbie and would appreciate any help I can get
