Thanks for the reply. Exactly the info I needed. Once i get the data cable, I'll post my MSL number. Thanks again.

eBay is the best option. Just do a title search for "Audiovox 8910 cable" (yes, I know you have the 8915, but the cables should be the same type) They run about $8-$10.

If not, then Ratshack has the futuredial brand version, although it will run $20 or so.

Drivers can be found in the full Curitel PC Sync package found here:

    http://www.curitel.com/UploadDATA/mf...115CPCSync.zip

After installing that, you'll want to download and install Bitpim (google it) and QPST (Bit harder to find, but google-able)

Now as for risk, there is little when downloading pictures/messages/sounds etc off your phone, but writing to it is a bit risky. Curitel phones have touchy filessytems, and if you don't know what you're doing, you can brick your phone.

In general, you buy the cable, download all the software (Don't use the stuff on the CD-R that comes with the eBay cables. It can be old), and install PC Sync first, reboot, install BitPim, reboot, install QPST and reboot before connecting the phone for the first time.

To use QPST, you'll need the MSL from the phone. To get that, you need to use BitPim and click the filesystem tab (which you'll be doing to access the phone with Bitpim regularly), browse to nvm/nvm/nvm_0002 and copy the file to your HD, then open it with notepad to see the second six digit code which is your MSL. (You then use that to access the phone in QPST)

I'd recommend you browse/search this forum, and the Audiovox and Virgin forums on Cellphonehacks.com and howardforums.com before attempting to write data to the phone.

Plus, if you do discover your MSL number, please post it here, so others have an easier time accessing their Snappers with QPST.

Hi, I recently got a Audiovox 8615 from virgin mobile here in Toronto. The prices for ringtones and wallpapers from virgin are pretty steep, and I'm looking to transferring custom ones from my PC. I know a "data cable" is required, but that is the extent of my knowledge. Could someone provide me with the nessesary links and data:

Where to find a data cable for my phone in Toronto?
    Any software/drivers needed?
Any risks associated with trying this with my phone?

Sorry about such n00b questions, I dont know many technical aspects of cell phones.
