Bono426, you mentioned that you only hear sound from one earpiece even when you encode the mp3's as mono (Which is a fantastic idea if you are only going to play them through the speakerphone). I am also having this problem but for now, nextel knows absolutely nothing about this phone, I did find some interesting information on motorola's website(nextel referred me to them).

In the FAQ's on Motorola's i870, there is a question "Am I able to listen to mp3 song's via blue tooth?"

The response "Bluetooth headset only allow voice calls and voice dials." is slightly disheartening.

In this same question they make reference to a stereo headset, the NNTN5774A which can "be purchased separately for i870 MP3 listening", however a search on google returns no significant results, and I cannot locate the product on Motorola's website.

I found the information from Motorola to be the most credible, here is my source, click the FAQ's button just under Support on the left side.

I hope that they worked out the bluetooth problems that they had with the i605. It was bad and didn't work with a lot of headsets and car kits.

yes! but that was my next post! NO STEREO only comes through on one earpeice. I have a 2.5 mm stereo headset for my pocket pc and it only came through mono. Now that is not saying that it couldn't/could take a special headset? I do see an upside to this and that is it only comes with the 32 meg card... well now you can convert the mp3 to mono and double the capacity.

Only down side so far is the external card is only 32 megs...A must upgrade!! Bluetooth is a plus! Get a pair of wireless speakers.
    can you plug in headphones?
