Again, read replies to your earlier threads. (That means ALL the boards)

I have looked all over cellphonehacks and I haven't seen a cupst link anywhere . If you happen to have cupst on your computer can you email me the file? [email protected]. I went to a couple of shops here locally and they weren't able to help me...I actually called my provider and they have been really helpful.

I'll get back later with good news hopefully

The "real" SPC tends to often be the MSL. The SPC is usually a simple repeated code like 111111 or 000000.

To do the flash you'll need CUPST, a cable, and the flash file from the carrier you're going to. (There's a link to CUPST on cellphonehacks)

I gotta be real close to flashing my phones, because I have been lookin at all kinds of stuff I have never seen on a cell phone before...so, you think that if I type in the spc I got off the phones into qpst that it'll allow me to flash the dang things? By looking into the nam programming I was able to see the real spc...not sure about the msl though

well, the return went good... for the second time! lol ...yeah this phone i broke here was the SECOND time i broke a 8910, the first one i did the exact same thing, and returned it... got my second one, broke it again, and returned it too...

so, with two phones now dead by my hands, are there other phones you guys might suggest to be a little more stable? i hear alot about "the 8910's firmware is fragile", so what phones out there have people had better luck with?

im thinking about 3 other phones in particular, with verizon... the motorola E815, LG VX8100, and samsung SCH A950. all 3 seem pretty similar, and feature bluetooth and MP3 built in, although a big drawback seems to be that none of 3 are able to connect a laptop to the internet?? is this true?? i use my phone for that now on occasion when i travel for work, and not having that feature would set me back

when its in that cycle trying to power up, removing the battery is the only way to stop it... the power button is unresponsive. and i tried it plugged in to the cable and unplugged, neither worked. and when it is plugged in, i cant access it through the PC, since the com port it talks through doesnt become active until the phone is 'fully' powered up, which it never actually reaches.

how would i reflash the firmware? that would fix it for sure, but i cant think how to do it in the state its currently in.

thanks for the suggestions guys, anything that saves me the cost of a new phone is much appreciated!

Have you tried to power the phone up with the cable plugged into the phone? Sometimes it will boot up that way.

Also, have you tried to remove the battery while the phone is starting up or in it's endless cycle? Sometime, that will do a reset of the phone.

Just throwing suggestions out here for ya to try.

You could probably reflash the firmware. (You'd need to buy a cable though)
