the seller is right. if the phone you buy off ebay is lock to t-mo and your sim is t-mo your not gonna have a problem even the phone is prepaid.
if that phone is cingular and your sim is t-mo, then you gonna have a problem.
you need to unlock that phone so you can use t-mo sim in it.

This is my first post here and I hope someone can help me. My grand daughter wanted an upgrade on her Nokia phone that she uses with T-Mobile. I thought I would surprise her and get her one for Christmas. In order to try and save some money, (its tight when on SS) I purchased one on EBAY than buying direct.

    IT is a nokia 6101.

I received it a few days ago and it is a prepaid tmobile phone. No where did the auction say it was a prepaid phone,

I emailed the seller and he said that I could still use this phone by just putting in her existing sim card into the new one.

    Is this correct?

Since Christmas is such a long way away, Should I trust the seller or should I try to return it.

Can her sim card be used in a prepaid phone?

    Why are things so difficult?

    Thanks for your help

You can email me if you want if you have data to prove if this will work or not

I hope I'm not being taken advantage of
