    Where do you see Sprint?

If someone flashed it to Sprint, then it can still be flashed again to Cricket. That's no roadblock.

Try the nvm_0002 process via BitPim on the Alltel to get the MSL

Regarding the hex editor, it probably won't help, as notepad seems to show the same necessary information in the nvm_0002 file.

If you still want to try it, here's a link:

I checked out that thread you posted...looks fine and dandy...now, back to stupid questions...I have read about hex editors here and there...what the heck is it and where DO I GET IT?...and once you do have it, how the heck do you use it?...hopefully it is easier to use than CUPST...I thought I was going to lose my mind trying to manipulate that friggin program...works like a champ though once you figger it out...

yeah, the Alltel/Sprint phone was the one needing the MSL code to proceed...do you reckon that was an Alltel phone that someone flashed to use on Sprint? I have been wondering that for a while now...and if so, does that make it more difficult to do what I am trying to do?

Firstly, QPST has a default number in the field where it asks for an SPC. That number is 000000. When I use QPST, I have to enter my MSL to access my phone.

Awhile back, you complained that the Verizon nvm_0002 file looked garbled a bit, and that you only saw your lock code and one six digit number. Well, amusingly enough, that six digit code was 000000. I'm assuming that CUPST goes forward due a similar default. That's may be why you aren't having a problem.

The Verizon nvm_002 file has been reported before as being odd looking, even encrypted, but it seems the code that does show is the MSL, and that there may not be an SPC on the Verizon 8910 at all.

Do you mean the Alltel one now?

I thought you were going to say that...I have the codes from nvm_0002 and none of them worked for the MSL on CUPST...
What does it mean that the Verizon phone just went right through that MSL prompt?

I told you long ago, you download the nvm_0002 file (it's in nvm/nvm) off your phone and open it with either a hex editor, or notepad.

The first 4 digit code is your LOCK code, the first 6 digit code is your SPC, and the second 6 digit code is the MSL.

Can someone refresh my memory on how to get the MSL for an 8910? I have read it somewhere but I can't remember where and now I can relocate where it was that I read it before...someone in this forum SURELY knows...most of you guys and gals in here are cell phone geniuses...
