There was another tread here someone said they where using a program(s) called BITMAN AND GAGIN. I don't know where to get them ....I guess just do a search?

Phone settings for kx1 are : Menu,Settings, network,Data,Next call or Data until off. The manual says you should see arrows flashing on screen when sending and receiving data.

Once I get the cable and software i'm going to try other third party Polyphonic ringtones and try converting them for the KX1 by changing or renaming the extention. If this works i'll post it.

My carrier is alltell and there is a kyocera kx2 phone listed at www.zingy.com
I don't know if i can download ringtones or they can only be done from the PC to the phone?
Anyway hope this helped and good luck.

    rbrown-

i found the drivers i needed, but i still haven't found any third party hosts.. i was able to get some ringtones on my phone using a software called qpst, but all of the sudden it stopped working for me. where is this 'send and receive data' command? in settings and under what.. i might have just overlooked it. but yes, that is where the cable is supposed to go.. by the anttenna. thanks for the reply.

    Tina,
Just got my KX1 the other day, Same deal you got at Walmart. Haven't got cable and software yet.
I'll believe the cable goes on the phone in back by the anttena, There is a rubber plug you'll need to remove. Also in settings on the phone will need to be changed to SEND AND RECEICE DATA. Drivers should be no the software cd. Don't think you can use the cable with out the software?

Let me know if the cable goes there or not, Also i've looked a little but haven't found any 3rd party websites with ringtones or wallpaper for the kx1 yet have you.
    Hope this helped.

    hello-
i've been trying around for ages to get ringtones onto my kyocera kx1 phone. nothing has seemed to work for me, so i'm asking for your help..

like i said, i have the kyocera kx1 flip phone. i bought the usb cable thing that kyocera says i need in order for it to work. i bought it over ebay and it didn't come with the software that it needed, which i understand is kyocera phone desktop.

i'll ask my first question. i realize how stupid this sounds but where is the cable supposed to hook up on my phone? it doesn't fit in the slot where i usually plug in the cable to charge it. it will only fit in the headphones jack thing and i don't think there are any other places to put it. i was just wondering if i got the right cable...

if that's corect, i need the kyocera phone desktop program but i cannot seem to find it anywhere except for free the update from kyocera.com. and also the person who gave me the cable said they would include a link to where i could download the correct driver, which i haven't received.

overall, i'm very confused and if anyone is willing to help me, i will be eternally grateful!

    thanks-
    tina
