The "i've heard story".... so you're not talking from experience.

I think what people are looking for here are facts, yes the Razr is fragile, just like any other cell phone is, and no it will not brake if you drop it on the carpet, i've dropped mine on the bathroom floor and did not have one scratch.

RAZR would be for you if you plan on having a more...Somewhat upper class phone. It has Bluetooth and a Camera and other features.

V235 would be for the mid-entry level. It has features but, not a LOT! It would be for you if you want not too expensive but not sooo flashy.

The V180 I have a big experience with. I used it with T-Mobile for 2 years and I have to say...Its okay for a basic phone. You can't expect much out of it because you can get it for free...It is a phone you just talk on...You also cannot expect the best reception off the phone considering you are using Cingular...

I saw the MPX220 and I had many problems believing that cost and the phone didn't look as good as it did on the internet.

RAZR seems like my choice right now. But I've read many bad reviews and some really good ones.

    Thanks for the info.

JZ, putting into account that your carrier is CINGULAR i will say that the Razr would be a good choice in comparison to the v180 and the v235, and if you plan on using your phone for more than a year you will at least have a very popular phone with good looks, and performance....

PS; i read on another post that you were considering the MPX220, don't do it, that phone was plague with software glitches from the start.....

    Hmm... Where to start!

How bout I start w/ the first phone, the LG VX7000.

But, before I start, The majority of the phones you listed are CDMA, NOT GSM. This means the CDMA phones you listed will only work w/ Verizon or Sprint. The only phones you can use w/ Cingular would be the v3 RAZR, v180, and v235.

Now, Back to the first phone! Its a VERY solid phone, Nice bright screens, GREAT RF. I have had BOTH versions (blue and black) and I loved them.

Next, let me go over the Motorola v710. I have also had one of these. The one I had was a early retail phone. It was NOT a perfect phone, But a good one none the less. IF you decide to get a v710, Make sure its a newly produced/new one, Not a older/used one. Now, This phone had the best RF I've ever seen on a phone. The speakerphone was phenominal as well. I did not get a chance to test the Bluetooth portion of this phone, But I know people who have and they say its great. Also, This is one of the sturdiest phones I've ever used. Not once did it squeek, crack, dent, etc.

The next phone I have expirence w/ would be the Samsung MM-a940. This is a VERY high end phone CDMA wise. Next to a PDA or Import CDMA phone, this is one of the most feature rich phones I've seen. The camera on this phone is excellent, considering it being a 2MP on a CELL PHONE! The transflash slot is very handy. espically if the phone is your only camera. Its also good for storing music for those long trips/daily commute. What suprised me most about this phone is how good the reception is considering it has a internal antenna. The entire time I had the phone in my possession, I had a constant 4 bars.

The final phone I have expirence w/ would be the Motorola v180. Now, Since you are considering several high end phones (V3, V710, VX7000, MM-a940) I would suggest that you take this phone out of the running. This is your basic, entry-level phone. No frills, No camera, No nothing! The only thing that it has going for itself would be the DECENT screen.

I hope this post helps you make your decision! IF it did, leave me some rep points!

Okay this will be my last one because I know you guys are getting pretty annoyed by my constant recommending.
But I looked all over the internet all night and I came up with 15 phones that interested me. I went to many phone sites (PhoneScoop, CellPhoneForums.NET's User Reviews, CNet, etc.) and I took the 15 and out of the 15, 6 phones were left that still interested me after the negatives I've read about them.

Now before I list the 6 cell phones I got out of the 15, I'd like to just make sure everyone knows my Carrier is Cingular.

    Here they are:
    -LG VX 7000
    -Motorola V180
    -Motorola V235
    -Motorola RAZR V3
    -Samsung MM-A940
    -Motorola V710

Now, I know all of you are asking "NOW WHAT TEH FOOK DOES THIS GUY WANT?!!!? "
Well, this is what I'd like for people that know anything about the 6 phones posted above to post anything about it. (A review, recommendation, how much it costs, what service it has, etc.)

Please post anything and everything you know about them.

I'm most interested in knowing how much they cost (after rebates because I'm getting a discount for a phone upgrade [My contract with my carrier expired]) and which cell phone carriers they support.

I'd really like any response from anyone on this topic because I really want to get a good cellphone. And I'm going to use it for the next 2-4 years, so I might as well like the way it looks, feels, and works.

    Thanks!
