    word. sometimes i wish i didn't bring it up, as it confuses people. but when i did bring it up, that thread totally reminded me of the hilton story.

    and how many times do i get the chance to say paris hilton on cpf?

    oooh, so it has nothing to do with cdma or gsm?! okay, i was thinkin the hacked paris hilton sidekick, was due to a security flaw in the GSM system, somehow. sounds a little crazy, but hey.. just checkin! =)

    ps : richie, the cpu has been a bit more security now, right? im assuming so, considering all that happend

    secure in what way?

    paris' hack was due more to an oversight than a lack of security. i'd feel safe on any cellular network. but in my opinion, the gsm networks are the way to go. but that's personal opinion, and not intended for debate. lol

    which one is more secure? anyone know? I am guessing CDMA...am i wrong? im going by this only because of what happend to paris hiltons sidekick, i know thats probably a stupid thing to go on but if u think about it, sprint never had that problem... that i know of

    generic rule of thumb on carriers:

    cingular, t-mo = GSM
    nextel = iDEN
    almost everything else (USA) = CDMA

    probably exceptions, so don't go all crazy on me guys.

    Verizon is cdma

    Cingular switched from cdma to gsm

    wow thats good to know! a little off topic question for you, while im thinking of it, i keep meaning to ask, but i get side tracked and forget...

    What does verizon and cingular have? Like, sprint is cdma and tmobile is gsm

    Renee, yep. So long as it is a T-Mobile phone or any unlocked gsm phone.

    Richie..
    Are you saying that if i take my sidekick, and pop out the sim and put it into a phone, that for example, shut off early and didnt pay the Early termination fee... i can still use that particular phone?? If so thats great to know! I know verizon and other companys dont do that..especially sprint
