Seems ringo is made for i-mates as well and Jen seems to think it is great, so that is helpful. Thanks.
    Try Ringo
(the only problem is that when I got it my Palm would mysteriously reset... other than that the program works fine...)

Jennie didn't mean that "we don't know what we're talking about so move it somewhere that does". If we knew what part of the world you use your i-mate, we could have moved your thread to one of the european or australian provider forums, where more people might have experience with your device. Here in the General Cell Phone Forum, a lot of things get posted that would be better off in a more specific forum, and our job as mods is to figure out which forum is best to help with your question.

I'm glad you got some helpful advice, but I'm sorry there was so much misunderstanding and contention in the process. We're all pretty nice people, but it's often hard to express emotion by typing and sometimes things get read wrong along the way.

    100.00 CPF $ donated to lapl1 successfully!

Here's a little CPF $$$ to put toward some nice ringtones or wallpapers, or perhaps you'd like to purchase an arcade pass and try your luck at some of our games. I hope you enjoy the site, and if you ever have a question that can't be answered in our FAQ or in the forums, feel free to ask any of the mods and we'll be glad to advise you.

My appologies, I now realise your "TRY DOING A SEARCH!!" is part of your general .sig file. I read it as you were yelling at me that if I did a search I would find the answer and implying I was a dopey bugger for not doing that and to stop wasting everyones time. Hence I thought your inital reply to me was incrediby rude.

I see it wasn't now you just yell that at everyone. Sorry.

I am unaware of any programs that I can download to do such a thing, that is why I am asking on a cell phone forum. I figured someone may know the answer.

    Apparently they don't. Oh well.

yeGods man.... Jennie is trying to help... I didn't know wat an i-mate was either and will now and forever have a negative association (as in, the first person who ever mentioned one couldn't even do it nicely)

    Thanks for your politeness: NOT

Not sure why you took me so harsh there... but anyways...

was really just trying to help... I have a Palm and I had to download a program (called Ringo) to it in order to assign special ringtones to groups (or individuals...).
Maybe there's something for your i-mate like that? Is there a website with i-mate downloads or something like that?

Thank you for your help: NOT

Of course I searched for it before I posted - when I couldn't find anything THEN I asked

Perhaps I was mistakenly assuming that cellphoneforums was about discussing cellphones, asking questions and helping in a community. Forgive my misinterpretation of it.

An i-mate is a phone, it is sort of like a palm and not really like a blackberry. It is also a pda, it has a 1.3 Mpixel camera in it and it has a hand held windows OS as its basis meaning you can use Word/Excel/outlook etc on it. i-mate jam page

There is no i-mate forum here so I may as well ask here.

Has anyone successfully assigned different ring tones to different people with an i-mate? Can't work out how to do it and the manual is useless.
