E317 doesn't play mp3 ringtones, it only accept mmf ringtones. You need to convert the mp3 ringtones to mmf first before uploading it to the phone. Check the following thread from another forum for some information on how to convert mp3 to mmf:

i just bought it and i got the data cable and i can't put real mp3 ringtones on it it can only be mmf file can any1 help me.
