I'm just hoping one day I'll eventually find a working board for cheap and I'll be able to just swap it in and have 2 custom looking phones both of which I got fairly cheap. My original Boost i875 purchase was for $320 shipped *unlocked but otherwise unused but I was able to use a $25 off ebay coupon so I only paid $295 and got VERY LUCKY by not getting charged duties either... I think that's a pretty sweet no contract price getting the phone almost as soon as it was released!

Aha, there you go! I did think about that after I posted, that one could probably get a non-working phone from ebay and do what you did fairly inexpensively. That was a great idea, and now that we've discussed it in the thread hopefully your idea will be helpful to others as well

If you really want to put your Nextel SIM in a Boost phone, an authorized Nextel dealer can unlock the i875 for you, as long as both the phone and the SIM are registered in your name. They will also charge you a fee to unlock the phone, but having them do it for you is the only legal way to unlock an iDEN phone.

Oops, sorry about the misunderstanding there! For future reference, quoting the post you are replying to will avoid confusion and clarify to whom your response is directed .

@ cell_angel: Perhaps www.phonescoop.com can help you make the decision on which phone has the features you need. First, put the model # of the first phone into the search box there at the top of the page, and on the next page below the picture of the phone you will see a link you can use to compare two or more phones and their features side-by-side .

EDIT: Click here to compare i870 vs i930

These two are almost identical, of course Boost phones have a more stylish contour design on the keys, and usually are just cooler looking in general. I didn't realize the i875 was missing bluetooth, but aside from that I've read in other threads that the i875 is not upgradeable like the i870. Apparently none of the Boost phones are upgradeable, from what I've read elsewhere.

EDIT: After I posted this reply, I went to boostmobile.com and looked at the i875 features page. IT DOES HAVE BLUETOOTH just like the i870. Look HERE.

i875 is the Boost version. My personal opinion is the i870 is one step ahead with the bluetooth. I feel the i930 is overpriced, the only reason to get it is if you want a windows os.

^^^ i respect your opinion but as for the rubber parts i treated that phone like it was my own child and the rubber got discolored for no reason and so did all my friends i870s

ps i LOVE my brick phone
pps another thing i do not like about the 870 is that the mp3 player is to picky and doesnt show some songs even though all followed all the phones "rules" thats not the case for my brick phone

^^^ i actually like the color of the phone which nextel phones has colors that just pop out at u none to date maybe the i95 and the rubber parts are only gonna get dirty if u make them dirty and the i930 in my opinion is not better than the 870 its a big ass brick and has a slow menu... just my opinion

I think i am the only one to complain about this phone. I didnt like it. the color of the phone is too bland (personal opinion), the rubber parts of the phone (headset jack cover and memory card cover) gets really dirty and nasty looking after a while, viewing pictures you took on the phone look like CRAP (you can only tell its a megapixel camera if you develop a picture or view it from a computer), the original clip put chips on my phone, and last but not least EVERYONE has it. soooo i sold my i870 and got a 930 and I like the 930 alot better my only complaint about the 930 is the battery door is glossy black and you get swirl marks on it like a dark colored car

How is the reception with this phone. I have the i836 and there seems to be problems with the reception with my phone and with others who have had it and switched to other models.
