there is no big diff about 8801 and 8800 except the phone frequency. 8801 can be use in europe, u.s. canada, latin america and some part of the southern u.s. 850-1800-1900mhz. 8800 can be use in asia, europe, u.s. and canada. 900-1800-1900mhz. since the 8800 don't carrie by any service provider here in the u.s you can use it to cingular network if it is unlock, but you cannot download anything from cingular bcoz 8800 is program to diff service provider.
What is the difference between the two besides bands if any? also I have cingular and my friend has tmobile and he has the 8800 would it be a bad idea to buy his?
