MPx220 no longer in sales channel USA-Have 2 for European networks with no GPRS


We like this phone at our company as it works well with our email system. However, these phones can be problematic in that the charger connector fails, batteries won't charge...etc. We purchased two 220's but they were firmwared for Europe and GPRS is not available and network settings "automatic" still do not allow for connection to the internet via Cingular wireless network. Tried to upgrade the Windows mobile software but they are already running the latest version and will not allow for upgrade. These phones do work as "phones" but no network connectivity. Any geniuses out there who can help? These phones are no longer for sale thru Cingular, Motorola Moto store or many secondary venders. Anyone know why this is?
