    Hi,

    Once you have the unlock code, how do enter in the 7100g? I can't find anywhere in the OPTIONS menu that will allow you to do this. I inserted a SIM card not from Cingular and when I went into 'SIM CARD' under OPTIONS, it displays "No valid SIM Card". I read somewhere that if you insert a non-Cingular SIM card, it will ask you for code when you reboot. I didn't get this on mine.

    Thanks
    Craig

    Hi all,
    I can't belive I found a cellphone msg board. Ok, unlocking a BB. I myself have a BB 7100t, and work for T-Mobile. To unlock your handset, call your provider's customer care number. They, in turn, contact the handset manufacturer, and are then issued the unlock code, which they send to your email, as well as leave a copy in your account.
    That's how it works for us, not certain how the other providers work. In addition, they may require that you have a certain amount of time having service with them, as well.
    A very inmportant fact to remember, they will need your IMEI number for your handset, as each handset has its own number. If they do no not get the correct IMEI number from you or, you don't carry out the directions correctly, your hs is permanantly locked, unable to be used.(I believe you get 3 attempts)
    * Finding the IMEI; (BB)
    * From the Menu screen
    * Go to Settings
    * Go to Options
    * Go to Status
    * IMEI is the very last one.
    * The IMEI is also on the tag inside your phone, under the battery.
    * Also, this works for T-Mobile service, not certain if it works for other Wireless Providers *#06#
    Peace,
