Thanks for the help. I am not worried about the cost as much as I would like a good phone that would last and give me good performace for everyday use. Like I said I don't need all the extra features as I am a basic just talk on the phone sort of guy no need for a mini cell phone computar. I was looking at nokia brand basicly because I went with the razor and my old lady with with a Nokia phone when we got our contract and her phone just had better overall performance than mine and has lasted way better. The 8801 since of style does catch my eye and the price now adays is not that bad for something I would carry and use everyday. I just wanted to make sure it was not total junk or something in a fancy case before I bought one.

Yeah, I think of it as a 6230 placed in a very expensive casing (without the ext memory, of course). I have seen a bunch of times where people had heated debates on which to get...the 8801, or an N Series phone like the N80. It just comes down to preference and if you can afford it.

But hey, at least you know IF someone tries to shoot you - someone like paulcman j/k - you can try to throw the 8801 in front of you...

The 8801 is alot more expensive than the RAZR because it's not mass produced. Instead of cheap plastic, high-grade stainless steel and mineral glass is used to create the housing and LCD cover to prevent from scratching. The 8801 was made for the consumers that want something that will turn heads, but something that is different and more expensive than your regular lot of RAZRs and such. Basically, the 8801 (like the Vertu) is a status phone.

The 8801 is a gorgeous phone. I had the chance to test one out for a month, and the build quality is just amazing...the RAZR does not even come close to the 8801. Of course, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Nokia N Series phone, but its design and construction makes up for it.

I don't think the 8801 is a waste of money IMO. Steel1111, if you can afford it and want to spoil yourself, go for it and buy the Nokia.
I meant in terms of features. They're pretty much the same there. It's just the stainless steel that you're buying.

Unless if you REALLY like the looks of the 8801, it's a waste of money considering the price of the RAZR.

Oh, and Motorola makes the RAZR, not Samsung.

Ok, am no cell phone expert in fact I have only owned one Cell Phone the samsung Razor which came with my phone plan. I need a new phone and have been looking at the 8801 I just like the look and size of this phone as I need basic controls and not many extras I am not into texting and all the tricks I just make receive phone calls 99% of time.I am looking for a small sleek phone that is easy to carry and performs well. I am going to buy the 8801 or the samsung 417C red or another Razor and would like to hear good or bad things about any off these phones from real world users instead of from some person trying to sell me a phone. Thanks for any help I need it!
