First and foremost, please excuse me if i'm not posting in the correct location. I've also tried to search for different topics regarding my questions, but haven't been able to get a legitimate answer..

I currently have service through Cingular. I just purchased the blackberry pearl, however, it's really not a phone for a person like myself. So i'm deciding on getting the LG chocolate. I want to get the Unlocked GSM version, however I'm not able to find out if it'll work in my area.

My assumptions were if I have reception with current pearl, I should have no problem with the unlocked GSm Chocolate. Can anyone confirm this? I just want to make sure before I actually purchase the phone.
