I just got a Pearl myself. It took me a while to make that decision to purchase the phone because I had tested a friends previously and wasn't sure if I liked the track ball. Turns out she didn't have the sensitivity set correctly and I can say I'm enjoying the phone.
If there had just made it Wi-Fi capable............a new phone revolution is on the way.
The screen is brilliant! You can change the text size up to 14 pt. Very large compared to most cell phones.
You cam make a few differant styles and sizes of text....the display is very clear and crisp, pictures my friends send me look better on my phone then on theres.
Folks here who've tried or window shopped the Pearl... How's the display for readability for one with vision challenges? Can you increase the size of text? Thx...

T-Mo had it for $149.99 for about a month.

Not generally this slow to make a purchase decision but I'm looking at the Pearl and the 8800 and the 8300. So many choices ... Thanks for all your great input and welcome to CPF!
