I would like to ask what my options are in the US for a cell phone or other portable device that can send and receive emails or text messages, written in Japanese, to and from an NTT Docomo cell phone in Japan. I currently have an AU by KDDI cell phone in Japan, but I don't know if the phone can be used with another provider in the US. I have a Dell Axim x50v PDA, but it is kind of big to carry in my pocket everywhere, and also I would prefer to be able to send and receive messages from anywhere like a cell phone, not just when I am in a WiFi internet area.
