I'm in a little hole in their coverage in central Texas, a little more than an hour northwest of Austin.

Would I go back? I wouldn't rule it out if we could port our new local number, but I don't think we'd drop everything to go back unless we're not happy with the new service we'll be getting.

It's a shame we couldn't get a local number from them since she was happy with the service and the plan (which isn't offered any more).

I recently stumbled on this nugget and wondered if anyone has done it successfully using the text message rate increase as the justification.

We'd like to get my wife out of her contract because we recently moved and they don't serve our local area (directly). Because of that we can't get a local number which she needs for her business.

But because the phone still works here for roaming, and because the roaming is free, we can't get out of the contract without an ETF, so they say. So we're locked into a contract for which we can not get a local number, which kinda sucks.

We've been happy with the service but we need a local number which T-Mobile can't or won't provide, so we'd really like to get out of this contract and go with a carrier which can give us a local number. If this is the ticket to get that done, then wonderful. But I'd like to know if it's been done by anyone here (first hand experience) and, if so, what kind of hoops had to be cleared.
