Interesting question, why not ask Fido?

My Motorola E550 mobile keeps resetting to the factory default "Hello Moto" ringtone, no matter how many times I change it! Here's the story:

I lived in the UK. I got a one-year contract with T-Mobile, and a free Motorola E550. Was able to change my ringtone, and used one that I downloaded for about 8 months.

I then ended my contract with T-Mobile, and moved to Canada.

Now living in Canada. Unlocked my Motorola E550 handset using an unlock code purchased off the internet. Got a new contract with Fido, including (obviously) a new SIM card for the handset. The ringtone I had downloaded in the UK is still on the handset, so I change to that ringtone. I call my handset from a landline (in order to test it out), and the ringtone change works.

One hour later, someone calls my handset, and I hear the factory default "Hello Moto" ringtone. And ever since, it keeps on resetting to that same "Hello Moto" ringtone, no matter how many times I change it.

This never happened when I was in the UK with T-Mobile - it only started after moving here to Canada and using Fido.

I have a hunch this is due to using the phone in a different country and/or using a different SIM card, which is why I've posted this query under the general section (as this might happen to other company's handset as well).

Any ideas why this is happening? Many thanks in advance!
