With a PDA Phone you could do VOIP via the phone's service or via WIFI

Can anyone give me some feedback and insight into the VOIP industry?
There is a big hype in this industry.
Is VOIP as big as it has been made to be? Is it really promising
Are the opportuties there or is it just another bubble.
The other day I was visiting franchisemarketplace.com and found in their business directory a franchise called VOIPSTARTER. Its suppossed to be a turnkey business and no experience is required. Just wanted to get some advice from anyone who is currently in this business. Want to make sure I can make a profit as long as I work hard.
