The Jump Start Kit came in the mail yesterday with the data cable and SD card, so I converted a bunch of songs down to 96 bit rate in mp3 format and put them on the phone. They worked fine.

I am running Windows Xp sp2 on a Dell Dimension 4500 Desktop. I found out that it's quicker and easier not to use the Jump Start Music Library to move the songs to the phone. Now I just copy and paste the songs to the appropriate folder when the phone is connected with the data cable. Now I don't have to deal with the 100% CPU usage of the Jump Start software. Boy was that slow. Couldn't do anything else with my computer when that was running either.

I put some ringtones in the appropriate folder too, but still have to save them to the phone so they will work.

I am running a Dell 4500 Desktop with Windows Xp Sp2. I decided to try something and converted a few files from mp3 to WMA. Thought maybe it's a format issue. It is. Apparently, my Jump Music doesn't like to play mp3's, but will play the WMA files just fine. I have a feeling it will transfer and play the mp3's on the phone just fine, but you just can't listen to them in the Jump Music Library unless they are WMA's. Thanks for the help and information. It's still weird that it's so slow and uses 100% of my CPU though. Not sure what's up with that.

I doubt it has anything to do with your system.

Thanks Territt. I did install it on my 2nd hard drive at first, but thought that was the problem. I actually uninstalled it and re-installed it on my main C hard drive, but that didn't seem to change anything. I'll try it again and reboot after this time. Nothing came up on my spyware. I should find out in a couple of days if the songs will play garbled on the phone as well or just on my computer. What bitrate and format are your songs in to transfer? I am wondering if it has anything to do with either my sound card, RAM, or processor. Maybe my computer is just too slow to handle the software?
Let me know if you think of anything else and thanks again.

About 2 weeks ago I purchased the AX8600 and the Jump Kit from the Alltel store here in town. I dl the software and installed it. It seems to work just fine for me. The only thing I didn't like about it at first it always tried to sync all my songs on the computer with the songs on my phone, and 17g of music on my computer trying to get put on my phone is a bit too much. But that part can be turned off in the options. What you might want to try is to reinstall the software, or maybe run a spyware scan on your computer. Thats all that I can think of right now, maybe something else will come to me later.

Has anyone else purchased the Jump Start Music Accessory Kit from Alltel? I bought the kit, which hasn't arrived yet, for the LG AX8600, Alltel service. I downloaded the Jump Start software from Alltel and installed it. It is VERY SLOW to load and doesn't play back the songs properly after putting them into the library. The playback is garbled. It is also using 100% of my CPU. Anyone else having similar problems? Why would it use 100% of my CPU?
    Thanks.
