The Gmail app is a Java app. You can't run Java on a Verizon Wireless phone.

Can't help with Mobile Email--never used that. Hopefully there will be some other BREW clients avaialble soon. Remo Mail is $3 per month and works pretty well.

You can log in directly to Gmail using the Glyde's browser.

Just got my Glyde yesterday and I'm trying to load the mobile versions of Gmail and Google Maps onto the phone. When I go to the sites (gmail.com/app and google.com/gmm) in the phone's browser, Google is able to detect that I have a Samsung phone and provides a link to download the apps, but when I "click" on the download links, nothing happens. Anyone know what the problem is?

I also tried setting up Gmail with Verizon's Mobile Email and that didn't work either.

Also...anyone have trouble getting the battery cover off?
