I think you mean the 5800 Xpress Music, because the 8500 is the Luna. It's a slider, while the 5800 is Nokia's first touch screen phone.

I prefer a phone with an expendable keyboard, so, for me that is a proper feature, Built in GPS is another feature I would call proper.

The Nokia 8500 is by far the latest from Nokia and is stuffed with lots of nice features, including the touch screen option, but as I said, it's a matter of opinion, it does not have an expendable Keyboard, so for me it's not my kind of phone.
