I just got this phone 2 months ago with my new every 2 for free, and he said it would cost me $239 to replace the phone since I don't have insurance. He did mention that I could call customer service and explain situation and ask if they could give me some kind of discount.
I know I remember reading something about placing the phone in a bowl with rice, to dry out the phone, but I don't know how successful that will be. Is there any hope for the phone?
    yes thats true.
take out you battery and put you phone, and the battery in a bowl, or pan of rice. make sure the phone and battery are fully covered with rice. also, use qick cooking white rice.
    Hope this helps
