just make sure to put the area code in when you send a text (in the us). i forgot to type it in once and i ended up getting charged for sending messages to antigua.

Long distance (as in inside of the US) is not charged a fee. Any Texting outside of the US, weather the phone is registered inside of the US or Not (local area code) will be charged I believe its 10 cents a message.

My Fiance went on a cruise to Mexico, and we both had the same area code, and texting her from home while she was in Mexico or on the water was like 10cents a message. We didn't send and MMS, unfortunately (lol) but I believe it would probably have been the same.

Does T-Mobile charge extra for long distance or international texting and picture messages?
