You would also have to flash the phone that you were going to use from another provider to work with Verizon, which isn't recommended for beginners.....
ohh, its because wen i log into my prepaid account with verison, theres a link tht says if i want to change my phone, n wen i click it, all it tells me is to type the DEC number of the new phone, n im assuming after tht it will b activatd. this is wht is says,
    Change Your Prepay Phone,
Enter your new ESN/MEID and reason for change below to activate your phone.

    Finding your ESN/MEID:

    * Remove the cover and battery from the back of your phone
    * Find the phone's serial number.
