mine is doing this as well. Every now and then mine will go to the dimm mode on the back light but it will never actually turn off. I'm not sure if it's a defect or is just a setting. I have mine set to 30 seconds and it will dimm. WHen I set it to 1 min it will never dimm.

My wifes Impression, the backlight is set to go out after 1 minute being idle. It's not going black. If she pushes the "unlock" button while it is on it will go black but come back on in a short time then go off again AND !!!! Evrytime it comes back on the wallpaper is different. LOL

The screen does however go black when you put phone up to ear to talk .

Any ideas whats going on or what she may have accidently done with a setting .
