    there are multiple issues affecting hardware problem. but in ur case, when inserting the sim, that means the conducting part of the chip is not sending signal on your phone.. u willl notice on the sim card, there are strips of gold which make contact on the cellphone unit itself. when you turn the phone on and its not detecting the sim card. I would suggest, try to insert that sim to another cellphone, and if it works, then its the cell phone that needs to be checked.. if the sim didnt work on the other phone, then the sim has a problem..

    Hardware refers to the parts of your phone that you can touch physically. So when you say hardware issue it means there may be something wrong with your phone and the only solution would be part(s) replacement. Best to have a technician check your phone for you

    i had a hardware problem which prevented my sim card to be read. So, I was wondering... What is a hardware problem anyway?
