I like Mark am having problem with my samsung blackjack i617 in getting it onto the internet. I bought the phone in the States but live in New Zealand. The phone was unlocked and it works fine on our 2degrees network. But I can not get the internet on this phone. Like Mark these area show a padlock

    Under GPRS
    2degress Unlock
    a) AT&T IMS padlock
    b) AT&T ISP padlock
    c) MEdia Net padlock

    Under Proxy

    a) AT&T WAP padlock

To the right of each of these is a padlock. They can not be edited nor deleted.

My question is this ... does anyone know of a way of making it possibly to delete these?

I called AT&T and ask for help and they were suppose to get back to me but never did. I phoned again and once again they would get back to me but never did.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated. Thank You.

It was not hard at all getting the code.

My phone was an AT&T phone so I just called tech support. I told them I was going overseas and I needed the phone unlocked. I should mention that I am NOT an AT&T customer. I am with T-Mobile.

The asked me for the IMEI number which can be found on the label on the end of the box or under the battery. I just gave them that number. I put my T-Mobile sim card into the phone and turned it on. It came up saying the card was not right for the phone. At the bottom of the screen there appeared a blank box. The tech support guy gave me the number ... I keyed it in ... pushed the center button to okay it ... then turned the phone off and then back on. TA-DA! It recognized the T-Mobile card.

I then had to go to T-Mobile to put in the different settings for the internet etc ... and everything worked fine. I was having a problem at first, but think it was all because I was not getting a good signal. Once I got out where I got 4 and 5 bars ... I had no problems at all.

I have since sold the phone and now have the phone I actually wanted ... the HTC G1 ...

Just give AT&T a call and tell them what I told you above. You will see how easy it really is.

Can you tell me how to put the T-mobile settings for the Internet on this phone? I just got one several days ago and I am currently with T-mobile UK. My phone is factory unlocked already, I can make phone calls and received calls using my T-mobile SIM card for Nokia Xpress5800. Just not be able to connect to the Internet. Do I need to get the 'blackberry' SIM card for this phone? Please help! Thanks.

Do you happen to remember the unlock code? I am having a hard time getting a hold of it? I am in the same situation you were when you bought the phone.

Since I have posted this it seems like I am not having the issues that I had when I posted this. I am not sure what happened (think it may have been something on T-Mobile's end ... although they say no).

I have been able to launch IE and even my YahooGO and they go off without a glitch.

Still would be interested in finding out if it is possible to delete these files someway.

i had the same problem, i think they are programmed in the phone, like the default ringtones and the phone just wont let you delete them. its weird. good luck though. if you find anything out let me know.

I am hoping I am posting this in the correct place. I do not see a forum for this problem nor one for this phone.

What I am wanting to ask is this:

I am currently with T-Mobile. I purchased this Blackjack II phone and called AT&T and got them to give me the code to unlock it. Everything went fine.

Every once in a while I have trouble getting on the internet. I have talked with T-Mobile and all my settings are correct.

The other night I talked with a tech support gentleman who was VERY knowledgeable and he seems to think that I may possibly be having issues because there are still some LOCKED items on the phone. The items are:

    Under GPRS

    a) AT&T IMS
    b) AT&T ISP
    c) MEdia Net

    Under Proxy

    a) AT&T WAP

To the right of each of these is a padlock. They can not be edited nor deleted.

My question is this ... does anyone know of a way or some software that might make it possibly to delete these?

I talked with Samsung this morning in hopes that they might have a firmware that did not contain these, but they said that because it is an AT&T phone exclusively ... that the only firmware they would have is what I have.

Just sending this out in hopes that maybe someone might know of something.

    Thank you in advance ...

    Mark
