The HTC Wildfire S is headed to Australia via Telstra. This is a mid-range smartphone that brings all the goodness of Android and is full of features and specs.

Although there's no official word on when the handset will launch with Telstra, it's expected to launch within the next month sometime and has been reported that it should hit Dick Smith Electronics around September 5.

Once the HTC Wildfire S lands at Dick Smith Electronics, it's safe to assume that the smartphone will soon go on sale and begin shipping. Price of the HTC Wildfire S will be $199 and will probably be offered on prepaid plans.

This smartphone will be locked since it is a Telstra Prepaid device and it will cost you $100 to have it unlocked during the first 6 months after the purchase of the handset or $27.50 thereafter.
