It wasn't too long ago when we reported that Samsung was about to rename or re-scheme the names of their Samsung Galaxy devices. The above photos are those of the Samsung Galaxy devices with the "letter" name change.

Take a look at the list below. These five letters will be assigned to any Galaxy smartphone that will be released.

•S (Super Smart) – These will be categorized as flagship devices that will be the highest level of Samsung Android phones.
•R (Royal or Refined) –These are just a step below the (S) but still great smartphones. These are described as phones that will combine power, productivity and performance. •W (Wonder) – A phone that describes someone who wants the style and performance in their handset that comes in a “high quality, strategic model."
•M – (Magical) – these should be “high-performance” phones “at an economic price-point”
•Y – (Young) –Name says it all. These will be geared toward the younger generation or emerging markets.

These words will also appear in the above "letter" names to represent what type of phone it is.

    •“Pro” – QWERTY smartphone
•“Plus” – “an step up from an existing model”
•“LTE” – no explanation needed here

The four Android smartphones shown above are the Samsung Galaxy W, Galaxy M Pro, Galaxy Y and Galaxy Y Pro.

The first Android smartphone shown is the Galaxy W. It has a 3.7 inch WVGA display, 1.4GHz single-core processor, 5MP autofocus camera, and HSPA+ (14Mbps) connectivity.

Second Android handset is the Samsung Galaxy Y, that comes with a 3-inch QVGA display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Buetooth 3.0, 2MP camera, and an 832Mhz processor.

Third and fourth Android smartphone are the Samsung Galaxy M Pro and Galaxy Y Pro, which comes with a QWERTY keyboard and represents themselves as a candybar handset with landscape displays. Both feature Wi-Fi, but the M Pro has higher specs, including a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera.

There has been no info as to when Samsung will launch these devices but they all will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
