What do you mean by somebody's code?

After a phone is unlocked, assuming you're trying to activate a GSM phone on a GSM network, all you should have to do is put in the carrier's SIM.

When you get an unlocked cell, can you use it as is, or do you have to put somebody's code in to use it?
