I know that there are EPROMs in computers called as 'bios' and are required to boot the computer. Processor can not execute programs directly from hard disk and the data stored on RAM(Memory) is volatile. Therefore, we need to store the boot program in rom which will hold it even if computer is turned off. When computer is switched on, processor gets its first instruction from the bios and the program in the bios loads operating system from hard disk. Now my question is, Since operating system in cell phones is not stored on hard disk but on a rom itself. So according to me there is no need of a separate bio rom. But does cell phones have separate rom for bios(for some other reasons) or cell phones doesn't have separate bios rom?Thank You Very Very Much In Advance!!!!
