    Turning Data Roaming ON

You can connect to the partners of your mobile operator and have access to data services even when you are not inside your mobile operator’s coverage zone. But, keep in mind that using data services when roaming can be costly.

    1. Open the Notification panel.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Select Mobile Network and then tap Data roaming.
    4. And if you want your smartphone to play a sound whenever it’s connecting to a roaming network, tap Data roaming sound.

    Connecting to Wi-Fi

In order to connect to Wi-Fi you either need a hotspot or a wireless access point.

    1. Open the Notification panel -> then tap Settings.
    2. Turn the Wi-Fi switch On .
    3. Then tap Wi-Fi. A list with the detected Wi-Fi networks will appear.
    4. In case the network that you were searching for doesn’t appear here, try to add it manually by tapping the Menu icon and then selecting Add network.
    5. Now tap the network you wish to connect to.
    6. In case the network is protected by a password, enter the necessary passkey.
    7. Then tap Connect.

Note: The next time you turn the Wi-Fi on and connect to a network you’ve been connected to in the past you won’t be required to enter the password once more. You’ll be required to enter the password again only in the event you hard reset the HTC One SV.

    Disconnect from a Wireless Network

    1. Open the Notification panel -> then tap Settings -> tap Wi-Fi.
    2. Now you can do one of the following settings:

    • select the network where your smartphone is connected to, and simply tap it again and select Disconnect.
    • if you want to remove the network for the memory of your HTC One SV, then tap and hold the desired network and select Forget network.

Add to a Virtual Private Network (VPN )

Note: The HTC One SV needs to establish a Wi-Fi or data connection before you start a VPN connection. Also, you need to set a lock screen password or PIN before you use credential storage and set up the Virtual Private Network.

    1. Open the Notification panel and tap Settings.
    2. Go to Wireless & Networks and tap More.
    3. Select VPN and tap Add VPN network.
    4. Then enter the necessary VPN settings and set up the VPN accordingly to the security details provided by your network administrator.
    5. Then tap Save.

Connect to a Virtual Private Network

    1. Open the Notification panel and tap Settings.
    2. Go to Wireless & Networks and tap More.
    3. Then tap VPN and select the network you wish to connect to.
    4. Type in the log in credentials and tap Connect.
    5. You will now be able to access resources like your corporate network intranet.

Use the HTC One SV as a Mobile Hotspot

Note: In order to use your HTC One SV as a mobile hotspot, you need to have a mobile provider plan that has a hotspot add-on and your data connection has to be turned on, as you won’t be able to make your smartphone a mobile hotspot using Wi-Fi services.

    1. Open the Notification panel and tap Settings.
    2. Go to Wireless & Networks and tap More.
    3. Then select Portable hotspot & tethering and tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
    4. Type in a name for your router or use the default one.
    5. Choose which type of security you want to use and set up a password for your hotspot. You can also select None in Security, in which case you won’t need to enter a password. However, it’s recommended that you do enter one in order to limit the access to your mobile hotspot.
    6. To turn on the mobile hotspot, select Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.
