I'm wondering if the /efs partition on the phone was accidentally removed (or [nv_data.bin is corrupt) when the phone was unlocked. What happens when you do a *#06# ? Does it give you the IMEI that you mentioned?

Another possibility is that the usb diagnostic mode in conflicting - try *#7284# or *#9090# and select UART DIAG

I think check your network setting and also reset your settings.

Hi all! I am looking for some advice about a phone I bought (and used) in Canada last fall. When I bought my Samsung galaxy gio GT-S5660M (IMEI 357823/04/015329/2) the Bell Mobile sales person assured me I could use the same phone in Europe, with a European sim card, without problems. However, when I tried the phone was locked. I got it unlocked, and now it does recognize my sim card ('Ben NL'), but it does not pick up any signal so I cannot text or make calls. I have been to various shops, in the last one they told me it is in essence impossible for this phone to work with European sim cards (although it is quadband, the problem was with the sim according to them).
This is kind of a last resort so I hope someone has a solution. Thanks for reading!
