Your HTC One has the Google Now feature - an extension to the native Android Google Search that acts similar to an intelligent personal assistant.
For example, Google Now gathers information from your previous Google Searches and based on that information, as soon as you start the day it displays news about: the weather, traffic, the directions and travel time to your next appointment, the arrival of the next train or bus at your bus stop or platform or the score and standings of your favorite team.

    Setting Up Google Now

Note: In order to set up Google Now you need to have an internet connection, turn location services on and sign in to your Google account.
    1. Open the Google app.
    2. You’ll then see subsequent screens showing you examples of Google Now information cars -> check them out and tap Next until you see the Get Google Now! screen.
    3. Then tap Yes, I’m in. Some Google Now info cards will then appear on the Google screen.
    4. If you want to see all the available info cards, just tap Show sample cards.
Note: You’ll see more information cards on the Google screen as you use your smartphone to create appointments, search the Web and more. Keep in mind that Google Now gathers info based on your preferences and information that matters the most to you.

    Changing Card Settings

Want to customize the Google Now cards to better suit your needs? The following tutorial will teach you do just that. For example, you can modify or change your work and home addresses in the Traffic card or select when you’d like the Weather card to appear.

    1. Open the Google app.
    2. Then scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap the Menu icon -> tap Settings -> select Google Now.
    3. Tap the info card that you’d like to customize.
    4. Then tap a card setting and change it as you’d like.
    5. To save the changes, press the Back key.
Tip: If you want to hide a card, tap the On/Off switch located next to the card name.

    Refreshing Google Now

You can refresh Google Now if you’d like to update the info cards or show relevant cards for new information that you added to your smartphone (such as an upcoming event in the Calendar).

    1. Open the Google app.
    2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen -> tap the Menu icon and select Refresh.

    Turning off Google Now

Don’t find Google Now that useful? You can turn it off!

    1. Open the Google app.
    2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap the Menu icon -> tap Settings -> select Google Now.
    3. Then tap the On/Off switch located next to Google Now -> then tap Turn off.
