Sharing Your Phone's Data Connectivity via USB

USB Tethering allows you to connect your computer to the Internet by using your smartphone's data connectivity and allowance. Note: based on your contract with Sprint, this may result in extra data charges on your mobile contract!

Connecting Your Smartphone to Your PC:

    1. Plug the USB cable in your smartphone and the PC
    2. On your smartphone's display, press the "Apps" icon
    3. Go to "Settings" > "Connect to PC"
    4. Select "Install driver" on your smartphone. Alternatively, you can run the exe. file that should pop-up on your computer's screen
    5. Once the executable is running, follow the on-screen instructions on your computer to install the drivers
    6. After the drivers have been installed, tap the "Apps" icon on your smartphone > "Settings" >"More..."
    7. Tap the "USB tethering" checkbox. A new network connection should now be detected by your computer
    8. To stop tethering (data sharing with your PC), uncheck the "USB tethering" option on your smartphone and disconnect the USB cable

Sharing Your Phone's Data Connection via Bluetooth:

Note: before you continue, you need to make sure that your computer is capable of connecting to the internet via Bluetooth. Once again, depending on your agreement with Sprint, sharing your phone's data connection via Bluetooth may result in extra charges.

    1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone and pair it up with your computer (for instructions regarding Bluetooth connectivity, please click this link)
    2. Configure your PC so that it can obtain network connectivity through Bluetooth
    3. On your smartphone, tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
    4. Go to "Settings" > "More…"
    5. Tap the "Bluetooth tethering" checkbox. If set up correctly, your PC should now be sharing your smartphone's data connection
    6. To stop Bluetooth data sharing, uncheck the "Bluetooth tethering" checkbox

    Enabling and Managing Wi-Fi Direct

Wi-Fi Direct allows you to connect your smartphone to another Wi-Fi Direct-compatible device without needing wireless access points (or hotspots)

Connecting to a Device via Wi-Fi Direct:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the home screen
    2. Select "Settings" > "Wi-Fi"
    3. Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled. If not, tap the Wi-Fi switch to move it in the "ON" position
    4. Tap the "Menu" button on your smartphone, then select "Wi-Fi Direct"
    5. After a few moments of scanning, a list of available Wi-Fi Direct connections will be displayed on-screen (make sure that the target device has Wi-Fi Direct enabled, else it will not appear in the list)
    6. Under "Peer Devices", select the device that you wish to connect with
    7. On your other device you will receive a Wi-Fi Direct connection prompt. Accept the request. If required, type in a common PIN number on both devices.
    8. If the connection is successful, the text "Connected" should be displayed next to the device in the list

    Sending Data via Wi-Fi Direct:

    1. Various applications allow you to send data via Wi-Fi Direct (such as the Gallery app). Open the desired application and select the item that you wish to share
    2. Select the option of sharing the file(s) via Wi-Fi Direct (the method may vary depending on the application as well as data type)
    3. In the list of Wi-Fi Direct devices, tap the device with which you wish to share your files
    4. On the other device you will receive a Wi-Fi Direct file transfer notification. Open the notification and select "Accept" to receive the files
