    Capturing the Phone Screen

If you want to show off your high game score, post a status update about a song it’s playing on your device, the best way to do it is by taking a screenshot and share it from Gallery.

    1. From the Start screen, briefly press and hold the Power button.
    2. Then tap the Home key.
    3. The screenshot will be saved in the Photos hub -> Screenshots.

    Setting up Airplane Mode

Some countries and airlines require you to turn off wireless devices while on board an aircraft.
A fast way to turn off wireless functions is to turn airplane mode to On - when airplane mode is enabled, all wireless radios are turned off, call function, data services, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi included.
These functions are, however, turned on as soon as you disable airplane mode.

    1. On the Start screen, slide to the left.
    2. Touch Settings > airplane mode.
    3. Touch the Status switch to turn it on or off.

    Setting the Data Usage Limit

To avoid going over your monthy data allowance, set a data usage limit.

Note: If this is the first time you open Data Sense, you will be asked to set it up. To set it up right now, tap yes, to or tap not now to set it up later.

    1. From the Start screen, slide to the left.
    2. Tap Data Sense and you will see an approximate amount of data that you've used in the past 30 days.
    3. Tap set limit.
    4. Tap the Limit type box, then select One time or Monthly.
    5. To set your data usage limit preferences, make one of the following settings:
      • One time -> set the days until your data allowance expires -> specify the desired time data limit.
      • Monthly -> set the desired monthly reset date and monthly data limit. Usually, the monthly reset date is the start of your monthly billing cycle.
    6. When finished, tap the Checkmark icon.
    7. To see the remaining data and time limit, go to Data Sense -> tap overview

    Saving on Data Usage

Using Data Sense you can save on your data usage.

    1. From the Start screen, slide to the left.
    2. Tap Data Sense.
    3. Select one of the following settings:
      • If the data usage limit type is set to One time or Monthly, tap Settings -> then select Restrict background data when I'm near my limit. If select Restrict background data when I'm near my limit is selected, the background synchronization for your email and social accounts will automatically stop when you're near the data limit. But don’t worry! You can still synchronize your email and social accounts manually.
      • Touch the More icon -> tap map nearby Wi-Fi to find a Wi-Fi hotspot near your location.
      • Swipe left to the usage screen -> then check which apps are using more data and close any of the data-intensive apps that you no longer need.

Quickly Creating an Appointment on a Time Slot

    1. From the Start screen, tap the Calendar tile .
    2. Then go to day view.
    3. Tap a time slot -> enter the desired subject, and then tap the Save icon.

You can later on edit the appointment if you wish to add more details or if you want to move it to another account's calendar.
