    Mobile Hotspot Management

    Setting Up Mobile Hotspot:

Mobile hotspot allows you to share the data allowance of your handset with other devices, such as a computer. Note that in order to use this feature, data connectivity needs to be enabled, and your mobile plan needs to support this particular service. Additional costs may incur.

    1. Open the notifications panel
    2. Tap the "Settings" icon
    3. Under "Wireless & networks" tap "More"
    4. Tap "Mobile network sharing" and then tap "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings"

    Enabling USB Tethering:

Tethering allows you to connect your computer to the internet by using your smartphone's data allowance via USB. To use this feature, your carrier agreement must support this particular feature. Extra charges may apply.

    1. Open the notifications panel
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Make sure that mobile data is enabled
    4. Tap "More" under "Wireless & networks"
    5. Tap "Mobile network sharing" > "USB network setting" > "USB tethering"
    6. Connect your smartphone to your computer using the USB cable that came with your handset

Connecting Your Smartphone to the Internet Using the Computer's Connection:

You can connect your smartphone to your computer via USB and share the computer's internet connectivity. To do so:

    1. In the notifications panel, tap the "Settings" button
    2. Under "Wireless & networks" tap "More"
    3. Tap "Mobile network sharing" > "USB Network settings" > "Internet pass-through"
    4. Connect your handset to your computer by using the USB cable that came with your device

Note: assuming that the connection fails, then you'll need to configure your computer's firewall in order to allow this type of connectivity. Also, assuming that your computer's Internet connection is done via PPP, then only TCP protocol will be supported.
