    To Perform a Master Reset

Before following the steps of this tutorial, keep in mind that performing a master reset will return the handset to its factory settings, deleting all your personal information, including 3rd party apps. Thus, you should only use this option as a last resort and make sure to back-up all the important information before proceeding.

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Backup & reset.
    4. Select Factory data reset.
    5. You will see a warning – read it and tap Reset phone.
    6. Now tap Erase everything.
    7. Your smartphone will completely restart and reset.

To Perform a Master Reset via Hardware

    1. Turn off your device.
    2. With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume Down key as well as the Home key at the same time.
    3. While both the Volume Down key and the Home key are held down, press the Power button.
    4. When the LG logo appears, release all the keys.
    5. Scroll to and highlight wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
    6. Scroll to and highlight Yes – delete all user data by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
    7. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Volume Down key to scroll to and select wipe cache partition. Press the Power button when ready.
    8. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Power button to select reboot system now.
    9. The master reset should now be successfully completed and your LG Optimus G should restart.
