    File Transfer

    Transferring Audio Files From a PC:

    1. Connect your smartphone to your Windows computer using the USB cable
    2. On your handset, drag the status bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
    3. On your computer, once your smartphone is detected you should get a pop-up. There, click on "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
    4. Navigate to the desired music files located on your computer
    5. Copy the desired files from their original location, and paste them on your phone's storage. NOTE: you can paste notification sounds in the "Notification" folder located on your phone's drive
    6. Once finished, safely disconnect your smartphone from your computer. Click on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray, click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"

    Transferring Audio Files From a Mac Computer:

    1. On your Mac, navigate to samsung.com/kies and click "Download for Mac OS"
    2. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install Samsung KIES on your computer
    3. Once the installation process is complete, connect your smartphone to your Mac using the USB cable.
    4. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
    5. On your Mac, open Kies
    6. In Kies, select one of the following options:
    7. - Click the "Folder" icon associated with "Internal memory", then navigate to where you wish to add the music or audio file
    8. - Click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory", then navigate to where you want to add the audio file
    9. On your Mac, navigate to the desired audio file(s). Drag the files and drop them into Kies
    10. Once finished, safely disconnect your smartphone from your computer

    Adding Music to the Ringtone List:

    1. While viewing your smartphone's home screen, press the "Menu" key
    2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "My device" tab
    3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
    4. Select either "Choose music track" or "Sound picker". NOTE: you can also use Dropbox as an alternative
    5. Tap "Just once" or "Always"
    6. Select the desired music / audio files and tap "OK"

    Adding Music / Audio Files to the Notification List:

    1. From any of the home screens, tap "Apps"
    2. Tap "My files" > "All files"
    3. Navigate to where the desired audio files are located
    4. Tap and hold the desired file and select "Copy"
    5. Tap "Device storage"
    6. Select the "Notifications" folder
    7. Press "Paste here"

    Setting Custom Sounds

    Changing the Notification Sound:

    1. While viewing any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Go to the "My device" tab
    4. Press "Sound" > "Notifications"
    5. Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"

    Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:

    1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key
    2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "My device" tab
    3. Press "Sound" > "Ringtones"
    4. Select the desired ringtone to preview it, then tap "OK"

    Changing the Ringtone for Calls from a Specific Contact:

    NOTE: You can't assign custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on your SIM card or the phone's memory

    1. From any of the home screens, tap "Contacts"
    2. Select the desired contact
    3. Press the "Edit" icon depicted as a pencil
    4. Tap "Ringtone"
    5. Select the desired ringtone and then tap "OK"
    6. Tap "Save"
