    Enabling Battery Saving Mode:

    1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Battery"
    4. Tap "Power saver" and then press the switch associated with "Power saver", and set it to "ON"

    Changing the Way Battery Saving Mode Works:

    1. From the home screen, tap "Menu" > "System settings" > "Battery"
    2. Enable "Power saver"
    3. Tap "Turn power saver on" and then adjust the battery percentage at which battery saving mode starts, such as "Immediately", "10% battery" etc
    4. Mark or clear the check boxes associated with the following features:
      • Auto-sync
      • Wi-Fi
      • Bluetooth
      • Vibrate on touch
      • Brightness
      • Screen timeout
      • Front key light
      • Home LED button
    5. To access additional options, tap "Settings"

    Lowering the Screen Brightness and Adjusting the Timeout Duration:

    1. From the home screen, tap "Menu"
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Scroll under "Device" and tap "Display"
    4. Tap "Brightness" and drag the brightness slider to a lower level
    5. Tap "OK" > "Screen timeout"
    6. Select between "30 seconds" or "1 minute"

    Disabling Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot:

    A smartphone's connectivity features can hit the battery quite hard, especially if they're left enabled when not in use, or when searching for networks etc. It's highly recommended that you disable these features when you don't need them

    1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
    3. Tap "Mobile hotspot" and clear the check box associated with the option
    4. Press the "Back" button twice to return to the "Settings" menu
    5. Under "Personal", tap "Location access"
    6. Uncheck the "GPS satellites" check box to disable GPS
    7. Return to the home screen and drag the "Status" bar down
    8. Tap the switches associated with "Wi-Fi' and "Bluetooth", in order to disable these features

    Changing the Application Sync Settings:

    1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
    2. Select "System settings"
    3. Go to "Personal" and tap "Accounts & sync"
    4. Clear the check box associated with "Auto-sync data"
    5. Select an application to reduce its sync settings. Do the same for each individual application

    Disabling Background Data:

    1. From any home screen, press the "Menu" buton
    2. Tap "System settings" > "Mobile data"
    3. Press the "Menu" button and mark the check box associated with "Restrict background data"

    Minimizing the Use of 3rd Party Apps:

    1. Press "Menu" from the home screen and tap "System settings"
    2. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
    3. Choose the application that you want to edit
    4. Tap "Disable" to turn off the app, or alternatively, you can tap "uninstall" to completely remove it

    Switching from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

    1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen, and select "System settings"
    2. Tap "Tethering & Networks"
    3. Swipe the screen down and tap "Mobile networks"
    4. Mark the check box next to "Use only 2G networks". NOTE: to return to 4G connectivity, clear the check box

    Updating to the Latest Firmware Available:

    NOTE: following the steps below can increase your smartphone's battery life only if a new software update that deals with potential battery life issues has been released. Otherwise, completing the guide below will yield no effect on your handset's battery

    1. From any of the home screens, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Scroll to "System" and tap "About phone"
    4. Touch "System updates" > "Check now"
    5. If an update is available, follow any additional on-screen prompts to download and apply it
