WARNING! Master resetting your smartphone will result in loss of personal data stored on your phone's internal storage. Downloaded content, custom ringtones, apps, contacts and images will be lost. Master resetting a smartphone will return it to its factory state. However, data stored on the SD card and SIM card will not be affected.

Master Resetting From the Settings Menu:

    1. If necessary, back up your personal data from your phone's internal storage
    2. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
    3. Tap "Settings" and go to "Accounts"
    4. Tap "Back up and reset"
    5. Optionally, clear the check boxes next to "Automatic restore" and "Back up my data"
    6. Tap "Factory data reset" > "Reset device"
    7. In case you have screen lock enabled, enter your password or PIN and tap "Continue"
    8. Tap "Delete all" to confirm

    Master Resetting Using Hardware Keys:

NOTE: Use this method of resetting in case your smartphone cannot perform a factory reset from the settings menu. In other words, if the handset crashes, freezes or otherwise prevents you from applying a factory reset.

    1. Back up your personal data if possible and / or necessary
    2. With the smartphone powered off, press and hold the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" buttons at the same time
    3. After the phone vibrates, release the "Power" key but keep holding "Home" and "Volume Up"
    4. Let go of all the hardware buttons once the "Android System Recovery" screen appears
    5. Use the "Volume down" button to navigate to, and highlight "wipe data / factory reset"
    6. Press "Power" to select the option
    7. Press the "Volume down" button to navigate to "Delete all user data"
    8. Press "Power" again to confirm the selection, and wait for the master reset to be applied
    9. Once the process is done, "Reboot system now" will be highlighted. Press "Power" to restart your smartphone in normal mode
