    Restoring Applications:

    1. Sign in with your Google or Samsung account
    2. Open the phone's "Settings" menu
    3. Under "User and Backup", tap "Accounts"
    4. Select either "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account you have used for backing up the apps
    5. Tap your "email address" located at the top of the screen
    6. Tap "Sync all"
    7. Press the "Back" key until you return to the "User and Backup" section
    8. Tap "Backup and reset"
    9. Under "Backup and Restore", mark / clear the check boxes next to "Automatic restore" and "Back up my data"

    Contact Restore

    Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. If necessary, log in with your Google or Samsung account
    2. While on the home screen, tap "Apps" and open "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
    4. Tap "Google" or "Samsung", depending on what account you have used for the backup
    5. Tap the "email address" at the upper side of the screen
    6. Mark the "Sync contacts" check box
    7. Tap "Sync now"

    Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

    1. Launch the "Contacts" application
    2. Access the "Contacts" tab
    3. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings" > "Contacts"
    4. Tap "Import / Export"
    5. Select "Import from SD card"
    6. Select the desired account, and load the VCF file containing your contacts

    Restoring Media

    Restoring Media Files from your Device's Storage:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Tap "My Files" > "All files"
    3. Tap "SD card"
    4. Tap the "Menu" icon located at the upper-right area and tap "Select"
    5. Mark the check boxes associated with the files / folders that you wish to restore
    6. Tap the "Menu" icon and select "Move"
    7. Tap "Device storage"
    8. Navigate to where you wish to restore the files and tap "Move here"
    9. If you wish to move the files to another location, tap "Create folder" > "Move here"

    Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Use the USB cable to connect your Galaxy S5 Active to your PC
    2. From the smartphone, swipe the "Status" bar down
    3. Tap "Connected as a media device"
    4. Mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
    5. On the computer, click "Open device to view files"
    6. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up media files stored on your computer
    7. Copy the media files and paste them on the "Card" or "Phone" storage
    8. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone

    Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between your smartphone and Mac computer
    2. On the SGS5 Active, drag the "Status" bar down
    3. Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
    4. On the Mac, launch Kies
    5. In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
    6. Click the "Restore" tab
    7. Mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" and other types of files that you wish to restore. NOTE: you can mark the "Select all items" check box if you wish to restore all the files
    8. Click "Restore" and follow any additional on-screen prompts if necessary
    9. Once finished, safely disconnect the phone from the Mac
