Clearing the App Cache / Data:

NOTE: assuming that one of your applications isn't working correctly, you can try and fix these problems by clearing the application's cache and / or data.

WARNING! Keep in mind that clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, including high scores, user information and profiles, credit card information, saved games etc. That being said, it's recommended that you first try and clear the app's cache in order to fix the issues. If the process fails, then you can proceed with clearing the data.

NOTE: Clearing the cache will not affect personal data.

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" > "More"
    3. Tap "Application manager" and go to the "All" tab
    4. Select the desired application and tap "Clear cache"
    5. Confirm by tapping "OK"
    6. If the issues have not been solved, tap "Clear data" too and then tap "OK"

    Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your smartphone is not working as intended and your next course of action is applying a factory reset, then you should first try and fix these problems by clearing the phone's cache partition. Unlike a master reset, clearing the cache will not result in the deletion of personal data. To wipe the phone's cache partition:

    1. Turn off the smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Volume Up", "Power" and "Home" keys at the same time
    3. After the phone vibrates once, release the "Power" key but continue to press the other two
    4. When the "Android System Recovery" screen appears, release all hardware buttons
    5. Press the "Volume Down" key and highlight "wipe cache partition"
    6. Press the "Power" key to select the highlighted option
    7. After the partition has been cleared, a "Reboot system now" message should be displayed and highlighted
    8. Press "Power" one last time to reboot the smartphone

NOTE: In case clearing the cache partition hasn't solved the problems, then you may want to visit this link for a full guide on how to factory reset the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport

    Safe Mode

NOTE: In case you have installed a malicious app that prevents you from uninstalling it while running (and it's running all of the time), then you can reboot your smartphone in safe mode and uninstall the app from there. In safe mode, all third party applications are disabled. To enable safe mode:

    1. Turn off your handset
    2. Press and hold the "Power" key
    3. At the "Samsung Galaxy" splash screen, release the "Power" key but immediately press and hold "Volume Down" instead
    4. Keep pressing "Volume down" until the smartphone finishes restarting
    5. Once rebooted, a "Safe mode" message should be displayed in the lower-left corner

    Uninstalling a Third Party App:

    1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "Applications" and tap "Application manager"
    4. Go to the "Downloaded" screen
    5. Select the desired app and tap "Uninstall" > "OK"
    6. You can no exit safe mode by pressing and holding the "Power" key, and tapping "Restart"
