    Backing Up Application Data:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Go to "User and Backup" and then tap "Backup and reset"
    4. Sign in with your Google account. To add an account, tap "Backup account" > "Add account"
    5. Mark the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Backup account" if necessary

    Contact Backup

    Backing Up Contacts on a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Tap the "Contacts" icon while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" > "Merge accounts"
    3. Tap "Samsung account" or "Google"
    4. Press "OK" to merge the contacts with the account

    Backing Up contacts on the SD Card:

    1. Make sure the SD card is installed in your smartphone
    2. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    3. Tap "Settings" and scroll to "Applications"
    4. Tap "Contacts" > "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
    5. Touch "Import / Export" and select "Export to SD card"
    6. Review the file name in the pop-up message and tap "OK"

    Media File Backup

    Backing Up Media using the Smartphone's Storage:

    1. Ensure that the SD card is installed on your smartphone
    2. Open the apps drawer and launch "My Files"
    3. Scroll to "Local Storage" and tap "Device storage"
    4. Tap "Menu" from the top-right corner and tap "Select"
    5. Navigate to the folder containing the desired media files
    6. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired files and / or folders
    7. Tap "Menu" > "Copy"
    8. Select "SD card" and navigate to the desired folder
    9. Tap "Paste here"

    Backing Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 to your computer via USB
    2. From the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down
    3. Tap "Connected as a media device" and then mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
    4. From the AutoPlay window on the PC, click to "Open device to view files"
    5. Open the "Card" or "Phone" drive on your smartphone and then locate the desired media files stored on your smartphone
    6. Copy the desired files, and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer

    Backing Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: you should skip the first 2 steps if you already have Samsung Kies installed on your Mac computer

    1. On the Mac, open the Internet browser and navigate to Kies
    2. Click "Download for Mac OS" on the webpage and follow the instructions in order to complete the installation
    3. Next up, connect the Galaxy Ace 4 to your Mac via USB
    4. From the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
    5. Mark the "media device (MTP)" check box
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / Restore" tab
    7. Access the "Backup" tab and mark the "Music" and "Photo" check boxes
    8. If you wish to back up all of your files, mark the "Select all items" check box
    9. Click "Backup" when you're ready to back up the files
    10. After the process is done, safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
