    Restoring Applications:

    1. Sign in to your Google account
    2. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
    3. Tap "Settings" and go to the "Accounts" tab
    4. Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
    5. Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
    6. Check / uncheck the "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore" check boxes

    Contact Restoration

    Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "Accounts" tab
    3. Select "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account you've used for the backup
    4. Tap your "email address"
    5. Mark the "Sync contacts" check box, or tap "Sync now" if the option is already selected

    Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

    1. Launch the "Contacts" application
    2. Go to the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
    3. Tap "Settings" > "Contacts" > "Import / Export"
    4. Tap "Import from SD card" and select an account if necessary
    5. Choose the backup VCF file and load its contents to your phonebook

    Media File Restoration

    Restoring Media Files from the Phone's Storage:

    1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
    2. Launch "My Files" and go to "All files"
    3. Tap "SD card" and locate the backed up media files
    4. Tap and hold the file you want to restore and tap "Move"
    5. The device will display the available memory locations. Select one or tap "Create new" to move the files in a different folder / location
    6. Tap "Move here"

    Restoring Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the SGS4 VE and computer
    2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
    3. Mark the "Media device" check box
    4. From the AutoPlay window on the PC, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
    5. Navigate to where you wish to restore the media files from your PC
    6. Open a secondary Windows Explorer window
    7. Locate the backed up files stored on the PC's HDD
    8. Copy the files, and transfer them on your phone's memory
    9. After the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone

    Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect your S4 Value Edition to your Mac via USB
    2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
    3. Launch Kies on the Mac
    4. From Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
    5. Click the "Restore" tab
    6. Mark the check boxes next to "Music", "Photo" and other types of files you wish to restore. Optionally, click "select all items"
    7. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
    8. Once the process is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone
