WARNING! If you decide to master reset your smartphone, all data stored on the handset's internal memory will be deleted, including downloaded content, apps, custom ringtones, pictures etc. Additionally, all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Before proceeding you may want to back up your data. Visit this link for a guide on how to back up data on the Kyocera Hydro Vibe.

    Master Resetting via Settings Menu:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
    4. Tap "Factory data reset" under "Personal data"
    5. If your smartphone is screen locked, enter the PIN, pattern or password
    6. Optionally, mark the "Erase SD card" check box. This will format the SD card too
    7. Tap "Reset phone"
    8. Confirm by tapping "Erase everything"

    Master Resetting with Hardware Keys:

NOTE: In case you are unable to master reset your smartphone using the method above due to crashing, freezing or similar behavior, then you can still reset your device with a combination of hardware keys that gives access to the recovery menu. To do so:

    1. Turn off your smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Volume down" buttons at the same time
    3. After the phone vibrates, release the "Power" button
    4. When the "Android recovery screen" appears, release the "Volume down" key as well
    5. From the recovery menu, press "Volume Down" to highlight "wipe data / factory reset"
    6. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option
    7. Use the "Volume Down" key to highlight "Yes - erase all user data" and press "Power"
    8. Highlight "Reboot system now" and then press the "Power" key again
    9. Wait for your smartphone to reset and reboot in normal mode

    Applying the Latest Software Version:

NOTE: After you apply a master reset, all previous software updates are lost. That said it's highly advised that you check for updates as soon as you've master reset your smartphone. To do so:

    1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "System" and then tap "About phone"
    4. Tap "Software updates"
    5. Press the "Check now" button
    6. Assuming that a new update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
